Rock the Fort – The Classic Rock Show

The event was held on September 2nd in the stunning location of Grand Harbour Marina in Vittoriosa, providing a picturesque backdrop for the performances. This edition of Rock the Fort featured a headlining act by “The Classic Rock Show”, a renowned UK band that specializes in perfecting the original tracks of classic rock anthems. Attendees were treated to an unforgettable performance, with the band delivering electrifying renditions of some of the most iconic songs in rock history. Alongside the music, the event also featured food and beverage vendors and other activities, creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere. Overall, Rock the Fort 2022 was a resounding success, bringing people together to celebrate music and art in a stunning location, and marking the long-awaited return of the beloved event after the pandemic.

Pavaljuni Kollha Lwien

TEN08’s project “Pavaljuni Kollha Lwien” had a primary objective of promoting positive behavior among young people while encouraging their participation in community-based activities. The project aimed to distance young people from bad habits by providing alternative activities and opportunities for them to engage with their community. By focusing on positive activities, such as community service and volunteering, the project aimed to instill a sense of responsibility and civic engagement in young people. The project’s emphasis on community involvement aimed to foster a greater sense of belonging and pride in the community among young people. Overall, the “Pavaljuni Kollha Lwien” project by TEN08 aimed to empower young people to make positive contributions to their community while helping them avoid negative influences.

AVICII – Attracting Volunteers in Choosing Ideal Instruments

TEN08’s project AVICII – Attracting Volunteers in Choosing Ideal Instruments was a music-based initiative that aimed to attract and develop volunteers’ interest in music. The project involved music workshops where volunteers were mentored by professional musicians. The workshops covered various aspects of music, such as instrument playing, music theory, and composition. The project culminated in the production of a professional music video, directed by Mro Jonathan Abela, who was also the director behind the workshops. The video marked the closing of the project and was released on the death anniversary of AVICII, a legendary musician. The project not only provided volunteers with an opportunity to develop their musical skills but also paid homage to a music icon, inspiring volunteers to make meaningful contributions to the arts and their community.

Diversifying our Volunteers’ Abilities – SPORTS

In 2021, TEN08 organized a series of workshops targeted towards youth, focused on traditional sports found in Vittoriosa. The workshops aimed to educate participants on the history, rules, and techniques of traditional sports, including football, bocce, and regatta. The workshops provided participants with the opportunity to learn about the theoretical aspects of each sport and develop a deeper understanding of their cultural significance. Additionally, the workshops emphasized the importance of physical activity and the benefits of participating in sports. Overall, the project aimed to promote a sense of community pride and appreciation for traditional sports while encouraging young people to lead active and healthy lifestyles. The workshops by TEN08 offered a valuable opportunity for young people to engage in physical activity while learning about the cultural heritage of their community.

Nassiguraw Futur fil-Volontarjat

TEN08, a youth-led organization, designed a project that focused on empowering teens aged 10 to 15 to engage in volunteer work. The project included workshops tailored to the needs and interests of children and teenagers. The workshops covered various topics, including cooking, drama, and history, and also included activities related to Maltese traditional Festa, such as art, culture, sewing, designing, shading, banding, and modeling in clay. These workshops aimed to provide an enriching and educational experience for the participants while encouraging them to use their skills to contribute to their community through volunteering. The project by TEN08 helped to develop the social responsibility of young people and encouraged them to become active members of society.

Darbtejn Insiru Tfal

TEN08’s “Darbtejn Insiru Tfal” project was a heartwarming initiative that aimed to bridge the generational gap in Birgu, a city steeped in history and tradition. The project focused on fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation between children and elders, ensuring that valuable knowledge and experiences are passed down from one generation to the next. The project comprised two parts – an audiovisual video featuring Birgu’s children interviewing the elders, and a theatrical production written and directed by Neil Zerafa, a Birgu native. The actors who took part in the production were also from Birgu. “Darbtejn Insiru Tfal” was a meaningful project that brought together the community, highlighting the importance of intergenerational connection and preserving the unique character of Birgu for years to come.

Rock the Fort Celebrating Queen Ft Marc Martel

Rock the Fort 2019 was an unforgettable event that celebrated the music of the legendary band, Queen. Organized by TEN08 at the picturesque Grand Harbour Marina in Vittoriosa, the concert featured the incredible Marc Martel, who is widely known for his ability to perfectly emulate Freddie Mercury’s vocal range and performance style. The event attracted a large crowd of music enthusiasts who were thrilled to witness Martel’s mesmerizing performance, as well as the talented local musicians who played alongside him. The concert showcased some of Queen’s biggest hits, including “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Don’t Stop Me Now,” and “We Will Rock You,” among others. Rock the Fort 2019 was a roaring success, leaving attendees with an unforgettable experience and a deeper appreciation for the timeless music of Queen.

Natale Al Collachio

Back in 2018, TEN08 teamed up with the Birgu Local Council to present an exciting new event called “Natale Al Collacio” – The Vittoriosa Christmas Festival. This festive event took place on the 21st and 22nd of December, and it was the first time such an event had been organized in the area. The streets and buildings of Birgu’s core city centre were adorned with beautiful Christmas decorations, creating a magical winter wonderland atmosphere. Children’s choirs and festive music filled the air throughout the two-day event, adding to the festive spirit. “Natale Al Collacio” was a resounding success and a joyful way to celebrate the holiday season. The event brought together people from all over the area, and from that year the local council continued to organise similar event in the festive season.

Rock the Fort

The first edition of Rock the Fort was a spectacular event, presented by TEN08 on May 25th, 2018. This open-air Classic Rock concert took place at the Grand Harbour Marina, Vittoriosa, which provided a unique and stunning location for the event. Attendees were treated to an unforgettable experience featuring a lineup of talented performers, including Cash & Band, Bernie & Pod, Xarulu, Purple Haze, Lara Dimech, and Ivan Filletti. These artists delivered electrifying performances, belting out hits from legendary bands like Pink Floyd, Queen, Led Zeppelin, and AC/DC, among others. Rock the Fort’s first edition was a roaring success, and it set the stage for future editions that would be just as exciting and memorable.

Ten08 proudly presented ‘Don’t Dream it, Be it! The Journey Continues’, a show featuring highlights from some of the best-known musicals. Directed by Matthew Raggio and choreographed by Kinetic Dance Academy, the show was performed on the 5th, 6th and 7th of May 2017.
